Be faithful in small things.

Do not think that love, in order to be genuine, has to be extraordinary. When you feel you are struggling to be the parent or carer that you would like to be; or think that somehow you should be – & should be doing – more than you are, try to hold onto this.

It’s easy to forget that it’s the ordinary things that matter the most in our relationships with our children.  Routines, consistency, reliability, showing an interest. And on days when this is hard, then love is putting one foot in front of the other & carrying on. Try to love without getting tired. Look out for the beauty in family life amidst all its imperfection & limitations. Be faithful in small things & know that you are your child’s greatest resource. You are enough.
