Teddy Moffle’s Hug

Well it’s been a long time in the writing, illustrating and printing, but Teddy Moffle’s Hug is finally here. Over a year ago now, I met Gerard, Kian and Marshal at their Moffle Coffee and Cake Morning at their home. We ate moffle cupcakes together and talked about ideas for a new book. Marshal wanted the moffles to go to a theme park and Kian wanted the story to involve a hug. And so Teddy Moffle’s Hug came to be written.

Yesterday it was my great pleasure to meet with Kian and Marshal again to give them their copies – it was their first time seeing the illustrations and I’m pleased to say they liked how colourful they are. Kian says his favourite picture is of the Moffles on the log flume. Marshal said the book is brilliant and he can relate to the moffles a lot. He also thinks that there should be moffle latte art and it could be called Moffie-Coffee – now there’s something to hold in mind for our next cake morning!

Here are just a few of the illustrations..

In this story, Teddy Moffle lives in a children’s home. He has moved around so many times that he has learned not to rely on anyone else. He’s found that being red and tough has kept him safe. But what happens when the kind Moffles who care for him now, look beneath the red feelings?

If you want to find out, Teddy Moffle’s Hug is available now from book retailers online, or from the Moffle website. Have a look in ‘The Books’ section for more details, at moffles.com.

If you have a little person in your care who can relate to Teddy’s story, or you know someone who does, then this book might help them to hold in their hearts that they are loved.
